Every shift is a new opportunity to Discover Different - and support each other along the way.Maintenance Tech Job SummaryThis position is responsible for equipment PM’s (preventative maintenance) and repairs to forklifts, conveyors, and associated Distribution Center (DC) equipment as well as general maintenance of the DC. Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical failures. Safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery. Knowledge of distribution center technology and process flow. Provide technical training to facilities utility techs. Work within safety guidelines TJX and under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and CMMS Tech.Major Areas of ResponsibilityAble to perform basic mechanical repairs on equipment associated with warehouse distribution.Department Safety – Responsible for following all safety guidelines. With a strong emphasis on Lock-out Tag-out and Fall protection.Obtain and maintain a PIT (powered industrial Truck) license to operate all PIV equipment associated with your assigned location within 90 days of employment.On Target performance of all tasks listed and other duties as assigned.Basic mechanical abilities. Perform basic mechanical repairs.Basic electrical skills – To include use of a multi-meter and able to change receptacles, switches and lighting ballast.General ability to read blueprints and schematicsGeneral maintenance to include painting, plumbing and facility upkeep.(snow/ice removal and salting where applicable)Ability to perform basic PM’s on all associated equipment – including identification of damaged or defective equipment and repair in a timely manner.Ability to work in elevated locationsAbility to detect safety hazards and plan/organize safe solutions.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Maintain expected level of cleanliness in all assigned work areas.Willingness to work any and all shifts including weekends and overtime.Interaction and control of automated handling control systems.Ability to maintain records as required.Working knowledge of the EMS (Energy Management System)Knowledge of all types of belting and able to assist in necessary repairsJob RequirementsMinimum of 4-6 years in the maintenance field.High School diploma or GED. Knowledge of all types of belting and able to assist in necessary repairs3-5 years of conveyor systems and power equipment experience is a plus.Must have general knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, water systems, building repairs and housekeeping procedures.Knowledge of building codes, trade standards and general practices within the maintenance field.Knowledge of electricity, mechanical, construction, plumbing and HVAC.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.We care about our culture, but we also prioritize your needs!
